Hello and welcome to the Native American Recruitment
and Retention Center at Cal! As our name indicates, we recruit and
retain Native students to the UC Berkeley Campus, but generally, we
are the undergraduate Indian Community at Cal.
Our membership of students come from all over representing tribal nations
as local as California and as distant as Canada. Our goal is to maintain
our academic success at UC Berkeley while also maintaining our
cultural identity as Native peoples. Our student run resource center
provides a number of services not only for our comnmunity at Cal,
but for the Bay Area Native Community as well.
Our organization hosts a number of recruitment trips promoting higher
education to Indian communities across California and as far as Alaska!
In addition, our retention center located on campus provides a number
of resources for the academic success of our students through the
Native American Advisory Council. You can read more about NAAC here.
Our most well-known event on campus would be our annual Pow Wow hosted
by our students through the InterTribal Student Council. Our Pow
Wow is always free and open to the public.
We work hard on our academics and are committed providing resources
for our community, but we are also a very social fun loving family!
